Even the best laid plans...

Of mice and men often go awry.

I shall call that the quote of the day! December 26th was supposed to be carefree, putting the final touches on my packing and full of excitement. Instead, here I am hoping I make it to Seattle in time.

Thanks to some crazy Alabama weather (tornadoes in December, really?!), everyone had to evacuate the airport, including tower control. This meant the plane I was supposed to take to Houston landed in Huntsville instead of Birmingham. And meant my flight to Houston would be delayed 3+ hours so that I would have missed my connection to Seattle. Not good. On top of that, United Airlines was less than helpful in trying to find a solution that would get me to Seattle on time.

So here I am, currently in the back seat of my parents car and on my way to Atlanta in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks to Randy and Anita for getting me to Atlanta so I can get back to Seattle with time to go home, take care of Watson, throw the rest of my stuff in my bag and get back to the airport! (This is where all my OCD planning pays off)

I will be so glad once I'm on that plane to Sydney. As Dad said, something always goes wrong with every trip so I'm hoping the issues are all behind me now!
