Prague Zoo

So one of the last things we decided to do in Prague was take visit to the zoo and boy did we like what we saw. It was a great zoo, but the y seem a little more lax about the boundaries for the animals. Like the penguins I have pictures of, if they got close enough you could have touched them and if you wanted to you could have alos climbed into the enclosure with them (the glass wall was only about 3 feet high). Additionally at one point when we went through one of the houses, I'm pretty sure a bat flew into my face. Talk about scary! I may or may not have freaked out... But anyways, here are the lovely pictures of all the beautiful animals we saw.

Flamingos and an eagle, then a different angle on the flamingos

Some eagles again, then some grazers

Yummy rocket ice cream pop! No zoo trip is complete without it, and a picture with the friendly cardboard zookeeper, some owls

the farm pens, rams and sheep and goats and pigs
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
goats, hens, and mini ponies!
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
a cute little boy playing by the duck pond, a porcupine, a mallard

we took the ski-lift up to the higher part of the zoo (not typical is it? The zoo was quite large!), a map of the various animals, some rabbits (or hares?)
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
some gazelles (i think), and a tiger (meow!)
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Leopards! and a cute little Timon aka muskrat
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Giraffes, Kayla with the zookeeper shoveling poo, Africa!
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
some giraffes inside the building, a close-up of a grasshopper, some deer
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
gazelles or antelope, a monkey, a big chipmunk

I don't even know what these are but they're cute! I do know the one of the right those is a badger who kept chasing the other badger in its enclosure around and around
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
huge cockroaches (barf), a huge snake, and a cute little monkey
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
an aged turle, a porcupine, and a cute polar bear
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
a polar bear playing with a tire in the water, some fishies, and another turtle

a waterfall inside the rainforest building (where I was attacked by the bat), an orangutan, and part of the Troja Castle which was across the street after you exit the zoo. It was a really pretty estate and with such a beautiful day we enjoyed sitting in the gardens out back and just soaking up the sun, watching the fountains

The gardens of Troja and the building and fountain

another part of Troja with a winery in the back, the backside of Troja, and pretty flowers

Isn't it lovely?

And that was our adventure with the Prague Zoo. Probably one of the best zoos I've been to, but then again I've never been to San Diego. It was really fun though and a good way to spend a bunch of free hours.

Well, thats two down, I hope you're proud and that it's restored faith in me that I can get this done so you can finish living vicariously through me =) But that's it for today, I'll try to get some more done tomorrow!
