Day 8: to Norway!

Another 5 hour train ride and we made it to Norway! It was pretty uneventful aside from one guy dropping his child on the train who didn't get off the train before it started moving again, a lady who banged her face/head real good while falling when the train made a turn, and a little dog fight. But that's probably usual for a train ride?

We made it safe and sound and dropped off our stuff at the hostel without consequence. And by then, we were starving! So we grabbed some food on one of the town squares and chowed down. Who can say no to mussels and French fries?!

We then took a little mini tour around the city, seeing a few things while we had all the daylight.

We went into one church and while nice it didn't quite compare with the Uppsala cathedral that we saw the day before.

But also to be fair, it could have been much older and it was definitely much smaller.

We found some fun at the tourist shops. You'll all be glad to know that we did not buy any of this headgear.

But we did take some photo opps with the trolls. I like to think this is what the trolls under the bridge looked like.

Then we walked towards the more historical parts and the palace.

Lots of nice buildings!

And a lovely fountain. And West modeling with the fountain. The art museum, which we were quite dismayed to find out was already closed that day and wasn't open on Mondays (note to any looking to go to Oslo), so we weren't going to be able to see the famous Scream by Edward Munch. Major bummer.

But hey, a dandelion fountain! and this Annie with a green thumb. The castle wasn't far from there, but alas also closed. What is with these peoples?!

The gardens were closed as well but thankfully they had some pretty flowers on display as we walked back towards the city.

This lady did something I'm sure, I just can't remember what. And trees!

We also found some lovely? sculptures while traipsing around.

We ended the night with some mini golf! The Norse know how to do it right! The course was actually really difficult which made it quite fun so we could all make fun of each other. Also, I think I won, so it was a good night!
