Day 4: Taste of Malmo

We started our fourth day with a nice train ride across the water into Sweden. We were sad to leave Copenhagen behind but excited about making new memories in Sweden! First stop, Malmo (before continuing on to Stockholm).

It was an interesting train ride as we had a dad dropping off his daughter on the train who didn't get off in time before the train left (whoops) and we were apparently in the dog car... which led to a couple of spats between pets.

Malmo was a cool city to spend a few hours in, was easy to explore on foot, and we got lucky that there was some sort of festival happening so there was all this delicious street food to pick from for lunch. We took a walk around the city, saw some of the sites, and enjoyed the weather before hopping back onto the train to Stockholm.

West insisted on wearing this neck brace for the train. So we insisted on making fun of him.

Upon disembarking at Malmo, we discovered there was some sort of fair! What luck! It made for some pretty pictures and fun backdrops as we had a couple hours to explore the city.

They apparently decided no festival is complete without palm trees--and who can blame them? Malmo is clearly a tropical paradise! And has some cool fountains

We loved some of the older architecure in the city, and this line of metal band members.

We have no idea what that sign says, but again, looks tropical, and delicious! We took a group photo in front of the Malmo sign to commemorate our experience.

When presented with all these food options how do you every decide?! They had EVERYTHING. Nordic cuisine, Irish, Thai, Chinese, American, Barbecue, Italian. The options were endless.

Always have to stay hydrated when traveling, preferably without bubbles (which I accidentally then spray over everyone when I open my camelbak on the train--this actually happened), and we liked this Evian with the cool travel inspiration. I've been to all of the ones pictured except one-- the Hagia Sofia. I ended up doing some Nordic cuisine--local, yall. It was delicious!

This was big square or little square? Not sure which, they looked the same to be honest

A cool twisty apartment building as we walked around. And then a scenic photo of the Malmo canals

The City Hall or Armory or something (this is why I should do this sooner after trips). We didn't go in based on time limitations but walked to it and took advantage of their bathrooms. It was pretty cool!

All the canals, just like Copenhagen. And a cool cathedral!

Which we went inside. It was all white and clean and lovely.

Apparently cokes in Scandinavia (or Europe?) are now doing destinations instead of names... unless this is a name, in which I probably won't be able to pronounce it correctly. Which is probably 100% true regardless of whether it's a place or name actually...

But back on the train we went, this time for a much longer time. There were more dog friends and a nice businessman watching Game of Thrones next to me for a good bit, which wasn't fair since I can't watch it while traveling over here :(

We arrived to Stockholm without mishap, other than the woman who ate it and smashed her head while the train shook a bit, but she Tebowed (literally), laughed it off, then went on her way. We checked into our hostel in Stockholm, grabbed some food then settled in for the night before all the exploring the next day.

We ended up having to split up for tables at the italian restaurant but it was delicious!

So much food and so much yummy-ness
